Organized by local farmers on March 25, 1892 to cover property of the farmers of Hall Co & adjoining counties in Nebraska. The name of the organization at that time was “The German Farmers Mutual Fire and Storm Assessment Insurance Association”. On April 16, 1892 the first Constitution was printed. The following perils were added throughout the years:  June 1, 1907 Windstorm & Tornado; January 14, 1965 Hail & January 20, 1968 Vandalism were added to the Constitution.

          The Association started with a Membership of sixteen and has progressed to one thousand nine hundred sixty policies written in 2020.

          On April 12, 1984 The German Farmers Mutual Fire Storm and Hail Assessment Insurance Association of Hall County and Adjoining Counties in Nebraska was incorporated and has perpetual existence. The name of the Corporation then took on the name of “The German Farmers Mutual Assessment Insurance Association of Hall County, Incorporated”.

          The general purpose of purposes for which the corporation was organized is: the purpose of the corporation is for the transaction and issuance of Fire, Storm & Multiple Peril Insurance coverage on such policy terms as approved by the Department of Insurance in Nebraska, such insurance to be issued in Hall and adjoining counties in Nebraska: namely, Hall, Merrick, Nance, Howard, Sherman, Buffalo, Clay, Adams and Hamilton counties in Nebraska.

          The By-Laws of The German Farmers Mutual Fire Storm and Hail Assessment Insurance Association of Hall County and Adjoining Counties in Nebraska were reviewed by the attorney for the said Corporation, with the Directors of the Corporation and at the Organizational Meeting of The German Farmers Mutual Assessment Insurance Association of Hall County, Incorporated were adopted on April 30, 1984 and Amended May 25, 1984.

          The Association today is a non-profit Corporation.
